The MAAGP Monthly Meeting was held at the Georgia Tech Research Institute from 10 am – 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Attendees: Members: Jennifer Allen, Janet Baty, Danny Blitch, Cathy Brown, Melvin Crawford, Sonja Fillingame, Vince Fulghum, Patty Hansen, Kimberly Hays de Muga, Kelly Hopkins, Kelly Jones, Daiquiri Long, Kenneth Owen, Pat Sheppard, Nancy Smallwood. Guests: Angela Birkes, Judith Brauer, Tim Bryant, Anna Clere, Jan Heidrich-Rice, Marie Netto, Nell Patterson, Ryun Amulu, Dan Williams, Leticia Jones, Betsy Baker. I. Welcome and Introduction: Chapter Secretary Kimberly Hays de Muga welcomed attendees and reviewed the agenda. Attendees introduced themselves round-robin style. II. Minutes- Minutes from the July meeting were approved III. Other Reports: 1. No updates from the national office to report. 2. Treasurer’s Report, Vince Fulghum—current balance of $1,532 plus $75 in local dues for a total of $1,607. Mr. Fulghum reported that he obtained a local EIN for MAAGP and is investigating options for a local checking account IV. Federal Workshop: Mr. Fulghum reported that more than 100 participants in the Federal Workshop at the University of West Georgia in Carollton stopped by the MAAGP. He estimated that 70-80 of them signed up for more information about MAAGP. V. Chapter of Free Membership—Ms. Hays de Muga reminded attendees about the application for a free annual membership with AAGP/MAAGP and the approaching deadline of September 3rd. VI.
